So pissed off right now. My former boss has decided it's somehow perfectly acceptable to go to my new line manager and request use of my time, to do something I would have done in my former job, right over my head, completely forgetting she was the one who made me redundant, took my permanent contract away from me. Uhm, excuse me but how about fucking no?

I wouldn't have minded if she asked as a favour but swanning about the place as if I still have some obligation to my former position, not caring that I don't know if I'll have a job this time next month...

Of course it isn't right. If she is your formerboss, then she has no business utilizing you for her projects.

I'd tell her to fuck off, but that probably isn't your best option. >_>

Is not doing it an option?

On the one hand, I wouldn't want to give her the impression that you can do work for her whenever she deems it appropriate, but on the other, you don't want to make too many waves by flat-out refusing.

Tough call =\

I've said to my line manager, that at the end of the day, I've been made redundant, I've had my security taken away from me, I don't like how she thinks she can just swan in and pick time away for me to do things I apparently wasn't needed to do.

She hasn't followed the right procedure to use my time this way. There are other admins in my team yet she specifically requested me. It's not right and it's upset me, and I won't back down from that stance.

If I am ordered to do it I obviously have no choice but I'm going to voice my objection loud and clear.

I think you should. And if you get fired you can come work here at my company and I'll split my finder's fee with you!

Wouldn't apply to me then. Tongue

I'd move to America if I had a chance of getting a job.

I'm already in America, you may want to stay put if that's your goal.
