I do not understand why people play free to play MMOs. Some might argue that you're bored and need a quick fix and can't be bothered paying to play one when you don't really know what it's about or you do know what it's about and choose to play one of over nine thousand korean mmos that happen to give advantages to players who pay more. When I play an MMO I think one of the most important things is balance in the PvE and PvP side of things. How can there be balance when you have to pay twenty pounds for a sword that does a decent amount of damage when the next person has to settle with some piece of crap he found in game.

I think Warcraft gets a lot of stick for being pay to play but the truth is with most things in life you get what you pay for and what you do get is an MMO experience unrivaled by any other. There is no MMO even CLOSE to emulating WoW's success or indeed it's awesome questing, and lack of unnecessary level grinding and if you do like that sorta thing, then yes, you can grind too. It's general storytelling and plot (Although derailed in Burning Crusade) is better than most if not all MMOs. People complain about the graphics, I like how it looks in honesty, it's welcome after playing Dingy Corridor Shooter 25. Most games these days and brown and grey and I like to think the expansive vibrant worlds in WoW are a contrast to that.

I'm not saying people shouldn't play free to play MMO's in conclusion, I just really don't get why they would other than the fact it's free. In which case. LOL UR POOR

15 dollars a month isn't expensive... I spend more at the pub on a Friday night than I do on WoW for 3 months. You get what you pay for, too many WoW players take it for granted and don't realise the mammoth effort Blizzard goes through to fix bugs, introduce new content, and put up with the s**t of idiots clogging their ticket system with inane complaints.

The only free MMO I've really tried is Perfect World, which I've heard called "the best free alternative to World of Warcraft." I played it for about a week and couldn't take anymore. Then I tried the World of Warcraft demo. The first thing I noticed was a higher level of polish in the game overall, but I got bored after 3 days. This is why I thought I was unable to get into any sort of MMO game before I gave EVE Online a shot.

Oh, and I've also played Runescape. That barely qualified as a game when I touched it back in the incredibly ancient times of 2004-2006.
