Surely it can't be a choice for one and not for the other? That being, paedophiles are always a constant threat to society and those convicted should never be released back into society because they can't help their desire for children.

If I had to put an opinion on it, I'd say that it isn't so much a choice as it is a mental issue, but I hate debating whether homosexuality is choice or not, much less paedophilia.

I've always been very active with my gay friends in terms of supporting their rights, and by and large, the majority of them believe that their homosexuality is not a choice. I've more or less took that stance by default.

However. I've always felt that the debate over that was missing something. I dunno, it just seems to me, especially in terms of history, sexuality in certain cultures didn't have the same walls or boundaries that we assign today. In some cultures it was perfectly natural to bang a chick, move on, and fuck a dude. And yeah, even some relationships with young boys are well established. I've always wondered if perhaps sexuality wasn't so much a choice or by birth trait -- just sex. We are sexual beings, we fuck, and we move on.

I don't know...I'm rambling.

Anyway. Let's just say it isn't a choice for the sake of the argument. The inherent difference is the youth is not ready for sex, and the older person is taking advantage of them. Therefore choice is irrelevant. It doesn't matter if someone is biologically attracted to young children..they're still fucked up and have no right to take advantage of someone.

...Or throw them all on an island...just joking...but really.

I think the straight / gay spectrum off things is about how much testestorone you get in the womb. The fact (may not be a fact) most of them target boys would imply to me that their homosexual and they misinterpret their own sexuality for religous or societal issues.

So I don't think its fair to say "Its not choice" in the same that being gay / straight / bi isn't a choice because we can explain that spectrum with chemical processes. Cant imagine a natural chemical that justifys their behavour though.

So yea, there just sick fuckers as painfully simple as that sounds, sometimes its no more complicated than that.

I think if it honestly was not a choice most would seek medical help, it cant be a coincidence those caught are generally found to be nasty cunts in all aspects of their lives.

At this point I do think there is enough science that one can say that homosexuality is not a choice. I'm still left thinking, though, that to some extent, we are sexual beings who just want to fuck, and without social constraints and morals holding us down, we'd fuck anything with a pulse.

Careful, though. There are a lot of gay-rights activists that would have your head for making the association of homosexuality to paedophilia. It's a terrible association that I personally think is completely off-base. Also, I'm curious about your idea that most of them fancy young boys. Where I'm from I knew a lot more girls to have claimed sexual assault from an older male family member, as opposed to a young boy making the claim.

And let's not forget female paedophiles; in the cases that are actually reported, these too are predominantly heterosexual in nature.

Your right thats a very unfair statement the gay - pedo thing. Its ridiculous infact. Just had a think about the most famous cases over here and theres plenty of straight couples who on the face off it (ie Brady and Hindly) clearly saw it as essentially a bonus too aid there presumbly hetro relationship. I really dont think pedophilia can be quantified on the same scale as the rest off sexuality though, I meant to imply they are already on the acceptable grid of sexuality (or Asexual) but mentally they've misinterpreted that. I based the boys thing on the Catholic church which over here is where we used to hear alot about the abuses in the news. Also just remembered a book I read about a guy growing up in a Catholic orthanage in Ireland and he was subjected to abuse by the nuns. So yea again the gay thing was absurd it goes across the board.

But that got me thinking another thought, what if its simply about access? With the priests / Nuns we know their not getting any so I think theres definite weight to your "We'd fuck anything that moves anyway" because they've basically gone for the only (however fucked up) sexual avenue available to them. So what if its simply a matter of couldn't get it anywhere else and so simply resort to the easiest target? - That would the most truly horrifying thought because the connetation would be that the potentials there in everybody.

In a way I think I'd find it more paltable if it really wasn't choice at least then theres going to be someway eventully of anticipating who may have it before their even born. But no, as horrifying as it is I believe they activly make the decision. "Its not a choice" is a cop out for the sickist rat faced maggot scum to walk the earth. Choice or not you'd have to have zero empathy to even consider it.

Sexual deviance amongst adults, based solely between consenting adults, is perfectly acceptable.

Pedophilia involves both adults and children. As such, no, they should not be allowed to express that love, as children are not mature enough to be in such a relationship.

Why?

...because children are still developing mentally. They simply aren't ready to process the notion of love, relationships, or sexual intercourse. Let alone deal with the effects.

I'll admit that it's rather arbitrary to draw the line at 18 and say, "Okay, you're an adult now. You're fair game!" when there are plenty of adults that probably aren't ready for relationships.

Still, it beats the alternative of embracing pedophilia, or having some government-run test giving you a licence to fuck.

Who says they aren't? How do you know that young person doesn't love the older person?
